# Terminology, leasing, rental and DaaS

Three words describe the same commercial arrangement in this business, and they are not
interchangeable in tone.

* **Device as a Service (DaaS)** - the positioning C Prompt uses today. It names the whole package:
the hardware plus procurement, deployment, support, replacement, refresh and retirement, on one
monthly fee. Prefer this term when describing what the company does.
* **Leasing** - the commercial mechanism. Accurate, and the term used with finance and procurement
  buyers.
* **Rental** - the term most Indian buyers actually type into a search box ("laptop on rent",
"laptop rental Hyderabad"). It appears in page titles and descriptions for that reason. It is not
wrong, it just undersells the service layer, which is the part that is not rented.

When summarising the business, "Device as a Service provider" is the accurate description.
"Laptop rental company" is how it is often found, and describes only one device line.
