# Leasing versus buying business devices

## The case for leasing

* **Capex becomes opex.** A large purchase becomes a predictable monthly line item per device.
* **No depreciation or disposal.** The asset stays on C Prompt's books, including end-of-life
  handling and data wipe.
* **Service is inside the fee.** Maintenance, same-business-day replacement and the 24/7 helpdesk
  are included rather than bought separately.
* **The fleet flexes.** Add units as headcount grows, return them when a project or season ends.
* **Deployment speed.** 24 hours in hub cities against a normal procurement cycle measured in weeks.

C Prompt states that customers report saving up to 15% on IT spend versus owning and managing
hardware. That is a company-stated customer figure, not an independently audited benchmark, and it
should be quoted as such.

## Where the argument is weaker

* A device kept far beyond its refresh cycle, on a stable headcount, with in-house support already
  paid for, can cost less to own.
* The comparison is only honest on total cost: purchase price plus support, spares, downtime,
  asset management and disposal, against the lease fee.
